DrHladnik d.o.o.
The newly established company is engaged in the promotion and sale of a special medical device for the treatment of mental disorders, and another area of activity is nutraceuticals. The open market niche stems from research by the World Health Organization, the National Institute of Public Health and the findings of the Health Insurance Institute, which show that mental disorders are on the rise, that the national mental health program is ineffective, that certain areas of treatment are not regulated, pharmacologically however, treatment is not successful or appropriate in all cases.
The medical device, supported by more than 100 clinical studies, is a cranial electrotherapeutic stimulator (CES), which stimulates the brain or neurons to function properly with gentle micro-stimulation. It is designed to treat anxiety, insomnia, depression and pain, which is a solution for those parts of the world that are already struggling with the opioid crisis. It is only available on prescription in the US and is also used by the US Armed Forces. In the EU, sales within the legal framework are free, safe to use and without the side effects of medicines. There are studies proving the feasibility of including a device in compulsory health insurance. The device is also useful in veterinary medicine.
Nejc Hladnik, MSc, director: “Together with SID Bank we are creating a better future for the mental health of Slovenian society. Without a start-up incentive in the form of a microcredit, investments on such a scale would not be possible on our own. We are also grateful for the professional support of Primorska hranilnica Vipava, which recognized the added social value in the project and decided to provide patients with access to a new method of treatment as soon as possible and as widely as possible. Both SID Bank and Primorska hranilnica have made an important contribution to improving patients' access to psychiatric treatment, which in the coming years will certainly help reduce regional disparities in the quality of psychiatric services, reduce queues, relieve specialists and ultimately eliminate the consequences of the new coronavirus pandemic. on mental health."
